Save your Claude Design work before 14 December.

Anthropic closes the standalone Claude Design site, claude.ai/design, on 14 December 2026, and public links to its projects stop working after that. Download each project as a .zip to keep it. To send one, export it as standalone HTML and drop the file here.

Checked 1 November 2026: Anthropic’s move guide and getting-started guide.

Drop your standalone HTML export and get a link you control.

What moves to Claude, and what stays behind

Claude Design now lives inside Claude, and a new design there is an artifact. Your work on the standalone site does not all come with it.

Your workWhat Anthropic says happens
Design systemsMove them now. One move brings over every design system in your organisation, and anyone who can use Claude Design can start it from the Artifacts page in Claude.
ProjectsMoving a project to Claude, where it becomes an artifact, is rolling out gradually to paid plans. Only its owner can move it, and the standalone copy then becomes read-only for everyone.
Chats and commentsThey cannot move. They stay in the standalone version and are deleted some time after it closes, so save what you need from them first.
Public linksLinks to projects in the standalone version stop working after it closes.
Organisations with zero data retentionThey cannot move projects, so Anthropic asks them to download every project before the standalone version closes.

Keep a copy of every project

A download of all the projects you own is rolling out with Move to Claude, on the standalone site’s home page. Until you have it, download each project on its own:

  1. Open the project at claude.ai/design.

  2. Click Share, then choose Project HTML. For a slide deck, it is under More formats and apps.

  3. Keep Project archive selected and click Export.

You get a .zip file with every file in the project. Anthropic says it is free and does not count toward your usage limits. It holds your files, never your chats or comments.

Send a design as a link

The .zip is your copy. To send a design to someone, export the one file a browser opens:

  1. Open the design in Claude. Select Export in the upper right corner and choose Export as standalone HTML.

  2. Drop the file in the box above. The box takes one .html or .htm file, up to 30 MB, so a .zip will not go in.

  3. Sign in. The file uploads, and on your first upload a tracked link is made for you.

Anthropic documents that Export menu for Claude Design in Claude. If your project is still on the standalone site, move it first when Move to Claude reaches your plan; the Share, Project HTML dialog there is documented only for the .zip. Name the people you choose, add a code, and only they get in. Readers need no account and nothing to install.

For your company

Colleagues who opened your standalone public link lose it on 14 December. Send the exported file on a link that opens only for your company’s addresses; the guide to sharing with colleagues shows each setting.

$59 a month for up to 3 senders, or $590 a year. Each extra sender is $15 a month, however you pay, up to 20 senders. Readers are always free.

Common questions

Still have a question? hello@htmlradar.com

When does the standalone Claude Design site close?

Anthropic says 14 December 2026. After that, claude.ai/design is read-only and you cannot start new projects there. Claude Design carries on inside Claude, where a new design is created as an artifact.

Will my Claude Design links keep working?

Public links to projects in the standalone version stop working after it closes. Export the design as standalone HTML and send an HTMLRadar link instead. When the design changes, replace the file and the same link shows the new version.

How do I download a Claude Design project?

Open the project at claude.ai/design. Click Share, then choose Project HTML; for a slide deck it is under More formats and apps. Keep Project archive selected and click Export. You get a .zip file with every file in the project, free, and it does not count toward your usage limits.

Can I drop the .zip here?

No. The box takes one .html or .htm file, up to 30 MB. Keep the .zip as your copy of the project, and send the standalone HTML export.

Will the design look the same for my readers?

Open the exported file in your browser before you drop it. Images and fonts inside the file, or at public web addresses, show for your readers. Anything that points at files on your own computer does not.

Do my readers need a Claude or HTMLRadar account?

No. They open the link in any browser, with nothing to install. You choose what they do before it opens, such as giving their e-mail address and confirming it with a code.

Does sending a design as a link cost anything?

Two tracked links are free, with no credit card. Unlimited links cost $19 a month or $190 a year.

Send your design on a link that stays yours.

When the design changes, replace the file, and everyone you sent it to sees the new version on the same link.

Two tracked links, free. No credit card.
